This lab was developed in July of 1998 and is continually a work in progress. It's original purpose was to teach the skill of hand conduit bending. While apprentices attend school they are taught the skills of hand conduit bending, and expected to demonstrate those skills for the instructor. With the beginning of day school, we began to utilize the same lab to teach the wiring of circuits; i.e. wiring of receptacles, wiring of single pole, three way and four way switches. Most recently we have begun to utilize this lab to instruct motor control circuitry. This lab now has conduits connecting it to our motor control lab. Apprentices are able to wire basic start-stop stations, pilot devices, and motors. In the not to distant future we anticipate this lab to be connected to our fire alarm lab. Students will then begin to simulate actual fire alarm zones, fire alarm annunciation, and fan shut down.
