Solar Decathlon Photo of LU 26 Apprentice Gets Some Attention!

Published on February 03, 2010

This Photo, was taken in October 2009 at the Solar Decathlon in Washington D.C. Fifth year apprentice George Stulock installs an elaborate solar array atop the home built by
the team from Puerto Rico. It seems out of place, but in the background stands the Washington monument. This photo always makes the DC natives look twice, mainly because there are no PV arrays that close to the monument. The Solar Decathlon is a contest that involves 20 homes being built in four days right on the great Mall.

To date this photo has been spotted in no less than 4 print magazines and 11 web based articles. If you'd like to see where it came from check out the video towards the end of the photographers blog post about his exploits at the 2010 Solar decathlon.

Photographer Adam Osielski was a 4th year apprentice at the time and had quite a bit to say about the experience in his Blog posts. Adam's Blog as well as those of the five other bloggers that journal thier apprenticeships for JATC 26 have also gained some acclaim, as they are featured on a major technical publishing website as well as "W
orkforceOne Registered Apprenticeships" a site that connects workforce investment funds with union apprenticeships.
