Apply Today To Be An Apprentice!

ONLINE APPRENTICSHIP APPLICATION

The JATC has closed the application process for the class of 2025. Applicants who did not sit for the aptitude test will have their application reassigned to the class of 2026. New and open applications can move forward with the online portion of the application; but will not be able to present documents, sit for testing, or interview until JATC offices reopen to the public. Selections for the class of 2026 will be made in the summer of 2021.

The deadline for these applications will be March 31, 2021.

All applicants must apply through the online process.

Step 1. Create a TradeSchool account. Use https://secure.tradeschoolinc.com/v5/jatc26-org/login/index.php to visit the TradeSchool login page. Click on "create account", complete the email and password fields. You will receive an email from [email protected], it may go to your spam folder. Open the email and click on the TradeSchool link. This will allow you to enter your account information and submit it for approval. If you are not a member of Local 26 leave the member # field blank. If you do not hold a classification from Local 26 then please select "unclassified". (Approval may take several days) Upon receiving your acceptance email from TradeSchool you will be able to login and start your online application. Login to TradeSchool using your email and the password you created. Click on the application tab to begin the application process. A $50 processing fee is payable before you can begin entering information into your application.

Step 2. Login to TradeSchool using your email and the password you created, in step one. Click on the application tab to begin the application process. Then select the program your applying for, from the drop down menu. (Inside Metro Area, Inside Roanoke Area, Telecommunications Metro Area)

Step 3.  In addition to uploading documents into your TradeSchool application, you MUST physically present your valid government ID, Social Security Card, official unopened high school transcripts and high school diploma or GED at either the Lanham, Manassas, or Roanoke training facility.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our offices are closed to the public at this time. We are not reviewing the documents, that you need to present in step 3. Please complete the other online steps necessary for your application. We anticipate that offices will be able to reopen and we can resume normal business in the near future. This will allow applicants ample time to present documents before the March 31, 2021 application deadline.

You must present all your documents at one time. If you are presenting paper copies of your transcripts they must be sealed at the time they are presented to the JATC. Your application will not be treated as active until you complete this step. (We recommend you request two copies of your sealed transcripts, one for upload in TradeSchool and one for presenting at the JATC.)

Step 4. After review of your physical documents, you will be scheduled for an aptitude test. You will receive an email from [email protected] with information about your aptitude testing date. Review the Apprentice Statement of Policies so you are familiar with program requirements. Any questions please contact the JATC.

We are not reviewing any documents, at any locations, at this time.
